My Dashings are done.  I love these quick projects, although I have plenty of projects left to finish.  Thanks to a lovely woman I work with as my model.  I was able to get some pretty interesting, and highly amusing photos (well at least for us).

I think the orange wall behind is actually pretty cool.  Just wish the filing cabinet wasn’t there. Ah well, what can I do on my lunch break.  I did make some changes to the pattern because I didn’t want them to long.  I shortened them by 1.25 inches.  They are 8.5 inches long.  The changes that I made are the following:

1. When you begin the pattern calls for working 18 rounds, I only worked 12.

2. Between the cable rows the pattern calls for working 9 rounds, and I only worked 6 rounds.

Other than those changes I followed the pattern, and they came out great.  They are super warm.  I think diVe’s Autunno is my new favorite yarn.

Dashing through the snow…… March 12, 2008

I know, I know, it’s not Christmas, but my parents sent me a few pictures last week of the snow they were getting in Texas.  I can’t wait…….

However, that is not the reason for “Dashing” through the snow.  What I’m really talking about is that over my short period of bed rest I did not work on the purse like I thought I would.  Yes, I started a new project.  A quick one.  I started Cheryl Namath’s Dashings,  more fingerless gloves like I need them.  They are coming out so cool.  I love diVe’s Autunno yarn.  It is so soft and transitions so nicely.  I have got to take some pics for my Ravelry page.

I did have to make some adjustments to the pattern because they were just too long for me.  So I shortened them up from the bottom through the cables and they are the perfect length now.

Back up and running March 7, 2008

Well I’m back up and running, not litterally running, just alive.  Finally finished my sister’s Manos del Uruguay Four Seasons Throw.  It looks awesome.  I’m so excited to be done with it, not that it was boring, I’m just glad not to hear my sister’s exclamations that it will never be done.

Next is to finish the purse that I am working on. Hopefully that will be soon……

Last night I had energy for like the first time in ages and I didn’t fall asleep at 6:30, so i knit.  I finally pulled an easy pattern out of my Ravelry queue, the Calorimetry by Kathryn Schoendorf.  The pattern can be found on Knitty.com. I knit for about 6 hours and finished the whole thing except for the button, which I will do today.  The pattern was super easy, but I think next time I will make it a little narrower.  Other than that, it is pretty cool.

As you can see, I made the Calorimetry in San Jose Sharks colors, as they are my husbands and my fav hockey team.

Just a little blurb about our walk.  Last year, for anyone that was with my, I could not finish the walk.  At mile 13 I had the worst cramps in my calves and I threw out my hip.  I did not quit though, I stayed to support my team.  I camped with them (somehow I got up and down off the floor thanks to the WONDERFUL chiropractors in the Wellness Village), cheered for them as they were coming into view and walked across the finish line with them.  This year I am determined to finish the walk.  The women I walk with are amazing.  We all walk for different reasons, but in the end they are all the same.  We want to find a cure.  To walk with us, there is a link to the right.  We are walking in the San Francisco walk in July.  Our group is Knitters for Knockers, complete with twirling tassels.  To donate, drop me a comment and I will send you a link.

Thanks
